Why You Should Care:

An open-pit mine could unalterably and dramatically affect a local water table that is already in decline.

An open-pit mine will create even more of the intolerable and hazardous rock dust which we have endured for many years.

Moving Southdown operations, for the first time East of state route 235, will make worse an already dangerous amount of truck traffic.

Southdown intends to reclaim the land by applying a mixture of cement kiln dust and sewage sludge to the affected areas.

The value of your home and property will be dramatically effected by having another open-pit mine in our community
